Services Golf Association
The ACT Services Golf Association (SGA) has been operating since 1982 using the Fairbairn Golf Club (FGC) as its base. It is not a requirement for SGA membership that you have served in the services ... individuals with any level of involvement, or interest, in the services and its camaraderie are encouraged to become members and come along to meet others in a relaxed social golfing environment. A formal golf handicap is not required to participate in SGA events.
The objectives of the SGA are to:
- Encourage and promote golf amongst members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in the ACT.
- Encourage and promote golf amongst members of other Service organisations (e.g. Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance, and other Emergency Services) in the ACT and surrounding districts.
- Foster competition in the sport of golf within, and between elements of, the ADF and other Service organisations in the ACT.
- Manage, control, and organise competitive events in the sport of golf between teams representing the SGA and other organisations within the ACT.
The SGA offer competitions fortnightly at the FGC commencing at 11am to 12pm - SGA 2024 Program.
